Multilingual chatting in the CALIVERSE

CALIVERSE was launched in August 2024 by the Korean group Lotte, with the aim of becoming a sustainable metaverse platform featuring ultra-high-quality graphics. It offers a realistic shopping experience by collaborating with digital assets companies and leveraging the Lotte group’s sales channels but also provides entertainment in the form of live shows and games.

As you may know, CRI and CALIVERSE Inc. signed a memorandum of understanding in January 2023, and, since then, we have been working together on research and development of future technologies to realize the next-generation metaverse.

As part of this effort, we are planning to introduce CRI TeleXus’ AI ​​interpreter for voice chat into the CALIVERSE. Indeed, while communication in the metaverse can easily overcome distances, understanding what is said remains an issue due to language differences. Moreover, since CALIVERSE provides an ultra-realistic experience, the display of translated text breaks the sense of immersion and the ease of communication.

AI interpretation of voice chat based on the CRI’s technology solves this issue, allowing for natural interactions between speakers of different languages. High-quality visuals and seamless conversations will help make the metaverse commerce more enjoyable.
