Introducing CRI Clovis
We are thrilled to introduce CRI Clovis, our new network video playback middleware that enables streaming playback on game consoles and smartphones. CRI Clovis was recently presented at the Tokyo Game Show and can be used both for video distribution services and live viewing in games.
Streaming playback across platforms
CRI Clovis offers video streaming on various platforms, including PCs, smartphones, and game consoles. Since video data is played as it is received, there is no need to wait for lengthy installations, and the storage capacity is not impacted until playback. Another advantage is that the video content can be replaced without updating the application.
CRI Clovis can be used in a multi-platform project. For instance, a recent e-sports tournament that was being held at a real venue was also displayed in the lobby of the game app where other players gathered, allowing everybody to experience the same match, whatever their location and platform.
Key Features
Playback functions: usual playback functions are supported such as playing, stopping, pausing, seeking, fast forwarding, and looping videos.
Localization: it is possible to obtain and switch audio tracks and subtitles according to your region.
Streaming at your speed: the playback data is selected according to the user’s internet speed. That specification can even be switched without interrupting playback.
Repeated playback: videos that have already been played can be played again from the cache. This avoids unnecessary streaming traffic.
Debugging features: by limiting the bandwidth, it is possible to simulate different connection speeds.
Content encryption: HLS encryption and decryption functions can be customized.
Usage fees will vary depending on the sales format of the application.
